Liquorice earrings so tempting you could eat them!
I love licorice. I love the colours, the flavours, the fun of licorice allsorts, separating the strings of wide licorice straps and trying to make the treat go further, the crackle of chocolate breaking from chocolate-covered licorice sticks, and trying to stop at one! Growing up half German, I learned to love Dutch salted licorice from a very young age: my mother would show me how to make ‘tattoos’ out of the small, diamond-shaped salmiak pastillen on the top of my hand and then I’d lick the ‘tattoo’ until it disappeared. By playing around with the German word for licorice – Lakritz – I got the name for my business. I can see myself making all kinds of things licorice-inspired but I love the earrings most of all. They’re visible fun!
